CSU Maritime Academy Alumni Award Nomination

Lighthouse Service Award 

The Lighthouse Service Award was created in 2015. Just as a lighthouse adds power, provides vision and clarity, is vital in the direction of navigation functions from the shore and protects a vessel at sea, this award is to recognize significant and notable service to, or on behalf of, Cal Maritime.

Award Criteria:
•Provided extraordinary and vital support to Cal Maritime
•Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award
•This award can be awarded to any alumni or non alumni 

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD

The Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 2015 and honors alumni who have made noteworthy contributions to the maritime industry, their chosen profession, and/or to Cal Maritime during their careers. Much like the Rising Star Award, these contributions may be recognized at any time during a career and do not necessarily need to represent an entire life’s work.

Award Criteria:
•Any graduate of Cal Maritime
•A noteworthy record of service to the maritime industry or their chosen profession
•Accomplishments that lend honor or prestige to themselves, their organization, and/or the Cal Maritime
•A sustained record of success in personal or professional activities
•Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award

•Any graduate or honorary alumnus/a of Cal Maritime
•Provided extraordinary and vital support to Cal Maritime
•Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award
 
Rising Star
The Rising Star Award was created in 2010. The Rising Star Award recognizes graduates who have demonstrated energy, creativity and leadership skills within their own career or in support of Cal Maritime. The Rising Star displays characteristics that confirm it does not necessarily take a lifetime to make an impact.  
 
Award Criteria:
•Graduated within 15 years from the undergraduate program
•Demonstrated consistent professional development and advancement in their field
•A sustained record of success in personal or professional activities
•Demonstrated support of Cal Maritime, such as active participation in the mentor program, career and college fairs, workshops, or conferences; business liaison for program or scholarship support 
•Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award

The Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2015 and honors alumni who have made significant contributions to the maritime industry, their chosen profession, and to Cal Maritime over the course of their full careers. While each of the alumni awards is considered meaningful, this award represents a capstone achievement.
 
Award Criteria: 
•Any graduate of Cal Maritime 
•A prominent record of service to society or humanity
•A sustained record of success in personal or professional activities
•Sustained support of Cal Maritime activities
•Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award
 
 

RISING STAR AWARD

The Rising Star Award was created in 2010. The Rising Star Award recognizes graduates who have demonstrated energy, creativity and leadership skills within their own career or in support of Cal Maritime. •Documented alignment with the spirit and intent of the award
