CSU Maritime Academy

Alumni Association

2016 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient

Brian Goldman graduated in 1995 with a degree in Marine Engineering Technology. In 2006, he received a master’s degree in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School. He has worked around the world on site management, capital projects, dry-dock maintenance planning and implementation, operations, automation, data network design, advocacy, and efficiency projects. Goldman has become an important contributor at Chevron Shipping, leveraging his background in maritime and in work process experiences. His knowledge of emergent issues, both locally and globally, indicate his attention to detail, macro perspective, and thirst for continuing education.

Goldman has lent his hand and his network of connections to the Cal Maritime Alumni Association for many years. He has hosted the Summer Send-off programs, helped conceptualize and organize the original mentoring program, recruited new students to Cal Maritime, established a scholarship endowment for cadets, and provided countless hours mentoring various generations of Cal Maritime alumni and students.

In his spare time, he volunteers on the SS Jeremiah O’Brien and with the Cal Maritime Alumni Association.
